Following
last years Fringe hit, “Parade” (which opens in London in August 2007) and the highly acclaimed London premier of “The Last 5 Years”
earlier
this year (both by Brown), Theatrespot Production’s Edinburgh debut
will
bring Jason Robert Browns beautiful and critically acclaimed music and
lyrics to Fringe audiences. It’s about one moment…. “It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back” (Jason Robert Brown) In todays world, we are bombarded with decisions and choices, encouraged to follow our dreams, live to our potential, be greener, vote for this candidate, buy this coffee, marry this person, fight this war – our world is tribute to the decisions that we make, or the choices being made for and before us, more so now, than ever. The character driven songs in this powerful piece focus on the consequences of decisions taken, the results and regrets of a life lived, a path followed and a choice made. With a cast of four (including Sarah Jane Bourne, fresh from Londons West End (Side By Side By Sondheim) and Mlu in his UK debut (The Lion King, Sydney, Australia) PLUS a live, four piece band led by Musical Director Paul Herbert (Into The Woods UK Tour, Hot Pursuit UK and NZ Tour), blending pop, gospel, jazz and classical styles in a musical theatre setting, this production aims to excite and to create a buzz among music and musical lovers. We want people to be part of something that may just open them up to their own lives. It’s about yes or no and where “yes” might take you, it’s about that one moment……and what you did with it. |
